Using solid state angular rate sensors, solid state gyrometers and magnetometers along with temperature transducers for compensation purposes, there are no parts to cause friction and wear.

Turn the EFIS-D10A off whilst in level flight and then enter a climb and turn, during which, the EFIS-D10A is switch on. The EFIS-D10A will, within 10 seconds, indicate that you are in the climb and turn.

Carry out a rapid manoeuvre so that the sensors are saturated, the EFIS-D10A will advise that parameters have been exceeded and the display screen will present basic orientation information, on a grey screen.

Within 5 seconds of resuming flight within normal parameters, the EFIS-D10A will resume a full information display.

The EFIS-D10A provides a solid-state, no moving parts, solution for ten of the most important instruments you need. The data from these ten instruments are presented on a bright, sunlight readable computer screen, which uses minimum panel space and provides maximum functionality. The instruments included are:

Angle of attack data greatly increases flight safety and is provided via a sensing port on Dynon’s wind tunnel developed pitot probe. The traditional attitude gyro, turn coordinator, and heading gyro functions are derived from all solid-state acceleration, rotation and magnetic field sensors. All the above functions, plus solid-state reliability, and state-of-the-art display technology are provided at significantly lower cost than the replaced instruments.

The EFIS-D10A is designed for easy installation into a standard three-inch panel cut-out and can be retrofitted into small areas. A simple user interface empowers a pilot with meaningful data that can be configured to specific needs by selecting and deselecting options. Redundancy can be realized with two units connected together through a data port for pilot and co-pilot instruments. A single EFIS-D10A can back up an entire panel of conventional instruments.

The EFIS-D10A connects to standard 12 or 28-volt electrical power and optionally contains a rechargeable emergency battery (available at an additional £75.00). There is an additional power input provided for an external backup battery that is intelligently monitored and controlled by the EFIS-D10A. Voltmeters for all the power inputs can be displayed on screen. The unit features an optional data output port providing flight information to autopilots and other avionic systems.
